Tin Can Kitchen, a food delivery service that launched at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, is gearing up to open a second shipping container kitchen next month, offering something completely different to its current street food inspired menu.
Well known throughout Newport for its burgers, hot dogs and burritos,
the owners of Tin Can Kitchen are planning something completely different for their second kitchen,
which will also be housed in a converted shipping container.
With its own separate, albeit familiar, identity, ‘Tin Can Kitchen presents…Al Forno’ will operate
as a bakery and sandwich bar throughout the daytime and a pizza takeaway and delivery service at night.
Following in the footsteps of the original Tin Can Kitchen, both the daytime and evening menus will feature modern twists on well-known classics, original recipes, as-well as a number of vegan/vegetarian
and gluten free options.
The trio are confident of having spotted a gap in the market, especially where the bakery and
sandwich bar is concerned:
With local lockdowns in force across neighbouring Caerphilly and Risca, the timing may
seem unfortunate for Al Forno, although having launched Tin Can Kitchen and traded
successfully during the first lockdown, the trio are unfazed:
Slated for an October 2020 launch, Al Forno will swiftly be followed by a third shipping container
kitchen, setting the scene for the trio’s end goal of an outdoor food court and music venue,
complete with a bar, staging and seating areas (subject to planning).
